Instead, we have her call the three to the dock about a friendship emergency. Twilight solves the issue, but it is not yet revealed. I try to solve it with her, and assume some sort of sea monster was attracted to the cucumber sandwiches. Twilight points out all of the stories had a few things in common. The three ponies all have different versions of the story, and none of them are able to get along to talk it out. By the time Applejack gets to the steering wheel, it is too late, as the boat is already headed into a massive wave.

When the storm comes, Applejack says she tried to steer the ship away, but with Rarity tugging the map for a tablecloth, and Pinkie just thinking it was fun to play tug-of-war. She tried to apologize but the other two would not have it. Applejack trips over a ball Pinkie brought, sending Rarity’s snacks into the sea. The other two were too interested in snacks to take part in the adventure she had planned. She just wanted to give them an adventure on the high seas and help them escape their elements. Applejack tells them that it was Pinkie Pie and Rarity who are responsible. To clear things up (and find out how they made it back), Spike and Twilight go and talk to Applejack. Just as Pinkie is about to explain how they got back safely, her muffins begin burning, and she hurries to save them. Apparently, Rarity told Pinkie and Applejack not to worry about the boat sailing to the storm, since luxury cruises don’t sink. Things get worse as Pinkie continues the story. Just moments later, she tossed her sandwiches into the water, claiming they’re “so ten seconds ago.” That is a hilarious interpretation of Rarity, I must say, but it doesn’t sound like her, which Twilight mentions. She brought lots of party food for them, but Rarity turned down the party food in place of her cucumber sandwiches. Pinkie Pie had just wanted to plan some fun to help her friends get out of their elements. Pinkie says it wasn’t Applejack, but Rarity, who sunk the boat. (I gotta love her coping mechanisms.) Twilight thinks the story sounds a bit unusual, and that Applejack wouldn’t do that, and so she heads off to get some answers from Pinkie Pie. When Spike asks how she got back, Rarity is too emotionally drained to continue explaining, and eats some ice cream. Pinkie tried to lighten the mood with some games, but the mood could not be lightened when Applejack decides to sail right into a storm.

Rarity brought cucumber sandwiches to get the others out of their elements and into elegance, but Applejack knocked the platter of food right into the water. They start with Rarity, who dramatically tells what happened on the boat trip. Twilight and Spike decide to visit them, since they won’t visit her. (Spike is especially sad that Rarity isn’t going to be there). Apparently the trip didn’t go so great. Twilight invites them to tea to talk it out, but each pony sends their pet with a note saying they can’t come. None of them are talking over the others, or even talking at all. Twilight Sparkle is really excited for Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack to return from their boat trip, so she can hear all about how much fun they had “getting out of their element.” She tells Spike to take notes, as they will probably be eagerly talking over one another.
